Under 17 Mounted Games


Yesterday, after three days of intense competition, the New Zealand team emerged the ecstatic overall winners in the Under 17 World Mounted Game Team Championships.

Since Thursday, Equitana Auckland’s Kubota Outdoor Arena has played host to the thrilling battle of speed, skill and accuracy that is mounted games at its best.

The New Zealand team of five have been the only ones riding their own ponies for this competition, with visiting teams from Australia, Canada, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, the United States, and defending champions England, all competing on borrowed ponies.

This is the first time the New Zealand Mounted Games Association have hosted the event and it’s been nothing short of electrifying!

1st: New Zealand 2nd: Australia

3rd: Wales 4th: Ireland 5th: England 6th: USA 7th: Rest of the World 8th: Southern Hemisphere 9th: Canada
